this and that

I don't really have anything exciting to write about. I've really just been occupied with work, daily affairs and a bit of crafting here and there. I finished the blocks for project improv. It was a bit of a struggle but I've managed to complete two blocks, and I like the result. There is a project improv group on Flickr, go check it out. It is so cool to see how different people interpret the same project in so many different ways!

I came across this cute children's tea set, decorated with the cutiest designs, at Kruitvat I could not resist buying it.

I also have a weakness for yummie fabrics, could not resit this either! Just love the combination red and white and the pretty flowers.

Talking about flowers...I desperate need to refresh this lot! Tulips are beautiful flowers but it seems I never can keep them fresh longer than a day or three. Maybe you can give me some good advise on that?

And to end this post I love to show you this pretty charmpack that arrived in the mail. "Recess" by American Jane for Moda Fabrics.

Wouldn't this be a nice lay-out for a small quilt? Well lots of work to do, see you next time!

p.s. Julie from knitsational is having a blog giveaway...all beautiful hearts, so if you love hearts go see her.

I have to say : I LOOOOOVVVEEE that tea pot.

I remember years ago going to Kruitvat in the Netherlands and it is not really a shop where one would expect this kind of super cute stoneware. You did well!!

It's so cute, I want it for myself.

Your project improv blocks are fantastic! I love them! The tea set and fabric are great. I just love tulips, but also have the same problem. So I am afraid I am no help.

I love the tea set and the fabric with flowers! My mum advised me to put salt into the water and flowers can be kept fresh longer.

Love your blocks, and especially the one with the polka dots!

I'm a big fan of all the American Jane fabrics, so wild and beautiful and retro!

Love your improv blocks.
You always have such wonderful finds!!

I’m also working a American Jane charm packs for a kids quilt!

A tulip tip from my florist: keep your fresh bought tulips tightly wrapped in paper in a vase in the kitchen or the hall for at least some hours, so they can adjust to indoor temperatures. Then put them in a vase with fresh water and place them in the living room. It really helps!

Groetjes, Janneke.

I saw the Recess fabric at the quilt shop. I really don't need more fabric but it is so cute!

So many lovely things in this post ...fabrics...blocks and a very cute tea set. I usually give my cut flowers some sugar in the water not sure if it helps or not.

You always have pretty and colorful posts! Love the tea set and tulips. I was told to snip the ends of the stems again with a diagonal cut.
